AutoZone, founded by L. R. " Pitt" Hyde III in Forrest Metropolis, Arkansas about July 4, 1979 was originally known as Auto Shack. The 1st Auto Shack store supervisor was a gentleman named Hello Crain. Revenue totaled 300 dollar on the first day of business. In year 1986, Auto Shack became a freestanding business with Pitt serving as the first Leader and CEO. AutoZone's mission statement involves their customer satisfaction pledge called " What must be done to Do the work Right” (WTTDTJR), which states; " AutoZoners always put customers 1st! The type of an honest system employed by AutoZone is ends-driven. An " end-driven" ethical theory is one out of which the proper action is the one that aims at some goal. When coping with employees, the code stimulates discussions about improving just how workers cope with ethical issues, prejudices and any gray areas that pop up during work (" Ethics Source Center", 2009). According to " Integrity Resource Center" (2009), " A code is meant to check relevant standards, policies and rules, not to substitute for them” (para. 3).
